Legal Support
Legal Aid is available for some based on a number of eligibility criteria including income, type of court (family/criminal) and type of crime.
The criteria is different by province and territory.

If you do not qualify for legal aid, there are a number of legal services available to provide you with information.

Ontario
Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO)
CLEO develops accessible legal information and practical legal rights education to help individuals exercise their legal rights. Their work focuses on providing information to people who face barriers to accessing the justice system. They are a community legal clinic, as well as a part of Ontario’s legal aid system and work in partnership with other clinics and organizations across the province.
